Tangem Launches Virtual Visa Card for Stablecoin Payments
Tangem introduces Tangem Pay, a self-custodial VIRTUAL Visa card designed to streamline stablecoin transactions globally. The card, developed in partnership with US payment infrastructure firm Paera, will initially launch in the US by late November, with subsequent expansions into Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Tangem Pay supports USDC deposits via the Polygon network and integrates with Apple Pay and Google Pay. While Tangem emphasizes its commitment to self-custody, the product requires KYC—a departure from its usual no-KYC approach. The company clarifies that stablecoin infrastructure provider R handles compliance, not Tangem itself.
Meanwhile, Best Wallet, another self-custodial crypto wallet, nears $17M in its viral token presale, signaling strong market interest ahead of its official launch.
